With over 30 years of experience in education, I am a passionate and visionary leader who strives to create positive and inclusive learning environments for students, staff, and families. I poses strong Instructional Leadership skills demonstrating proven success as a School Principal leading and supporting teachers to increase student academic performance in SBAC scores resulting in 14% growth in ELA and 23% in math for the 2023-2024 school year in Oceanside Unified School District. Additionally, showing 50% growth in IReady ELA. As a result, our school demonstrated the highest growth of all schools in the Oceanside Unified School District for the 2024-2025 school year. I effectively led teams in research based literacy professional development and training, including lesson studies, Science of Reading, CORE Multiple Measures and instructional coaching. I work to build positive and strength-based student systems of support and intervention. As a dual-site Assistant Principal for the Lemon Grove School District, I oversee the academic, and the social-emotional development of K-6 learners in a diverse and multicultural school setting. My core competencies include educational leadership, professional development, early literacy, community school coalition building, multilingual learner success, social emotional learning, and equity diversity and inclusion. I have served predominantly the unique needs of students and families who are part of Title 1 school demographics. I have a Master's degree in Educational Leadership Administration and Supervision from Arizona State University, and multiple certifications and honors in teaching and learning. I am a second-generation Latina with a working proficiency in Spanish. I am an ally for marginalized persons in diverse community settings. I have presented and facilitated professional learning on racial equity and anti-bias in public schools. My mission is to empower and inspire all members of the school community to achieve their full potential and contribute to a better world.
