About me
Roberto Ocampo brings over 15 years of comprehensive technology leadership experience in public education, currently serving as Assistant Director of Technology and Innovation at Salinas City Elementary School District and as an elected School Board Member for Soledad Unified School District since November 2020. Born and raised on the east side of Salinas, California, Roberto is deeply invested in the Salinas Valley community. He graduated from Alisal High School and now resides in Soledad, California, with his wife and three daughters. His dual perspective as both a technology administrator and governance leader provides unique insight into the cybersecurity challenges facing California’s K–12 schools. In his role as Assistant Director of Technology and Innovation, Roberto leads districtwide initiatives to secure and modernize educational technology infrastructure, protecting student data, staff systems, and community resources in an increasingly complex cyber-threat landscape. Roberto’s commitment to educational technology extends beyond infrastructure management—it is about creating safe, equitable, and innovative learning environments where students thrive, while ensuring compliance with state and federal privacy regulations.
