About me
Catherine Borquez is an experienced elementary school leader committed to advancing academic excellence and expanding opportunities for multilingual learners. She currently serves as principal of Willow Cove Elementary School in Pittsburg Unified School District, where she leads a diverse PreK–5 learning community focused on strong literacy foundations, bilingual education, and equitable outcomes for all students. Throughout her career, Catherine has championed dual language and bilingual learning environments that affirm students’ cultural and linguistic assets while strengthening academic achievement. She works closely with teachers to build strong instructional systems, support language and literacy development, and create collaborative professional learning communities that promote continuous improvement. Catherine is passionate about developing school cultures where students, families, and educators feel valued and empowered. Her leadership centers on building inclusive, high-expectation learning environments where multilingualism is celebrated and every student has the opportunity to flourish academically and personally.
