About me
Marcela Valadez, Ed.D., is a transformational and systems-focused leader dedicated to equity-driven, student-centered education. She currently serves as the Assistant Principal of Attendance, Interventions and Supervision at Thurgood Marshall Secondary School in the Pasadena Unified School District. Dr. Valadez earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from UCLA, where her research focused on supporting teachers of English Learners in STEM. Marcela brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her work, continually striving to drive positive change and foster growth within educational environments. She has served teachers, students, and families for 20 years as a classroom teacher, interventionist, instructional coach and school assistant principal. Her current work focuses on data analysis to enhance equity through tiered interventions and support.
