About me
Roxanna Bautista Villaseñor is a veteran educational leader with 25 years of public education experience and a reputation for turning beliefs into operational reality. She holds that a school system’s true values are not found in posters or promises, but in its master schedule, staffing patterns, and resource allocation. For her, master scheduling is a leadership act and a moral instrument — the daily blueprint that determines access, rigor, and opportunity for students. She currently serves as Director of School Leadership for South San Francisco Unified School District, where she supports site leaders in strengthening instructional focus, coherent systems, and equity-driven decision-making. Her leadership journey includes serving as Superintendent of River Charter Schools, founding a California public charter school, and holding executive district roles including Assistant Superintendent and Executive Director. Across settings, she is known for a systems-thinking approach that builds adult capacity and improves student outcomes.A committed advocate for Latino leadership development and mentorship, she serves on the ACSA Region 5 leadership team, the ACSA State Executive Board of Directors (At-Large), and the CALSA Mentorship Committee. Her work centers on dismantling structural barriers and building durable systems so that historically marginalized students are not just served — but positioned to thrive.
