Yolanda Valdez is a seasoned educational leader with more than 35 years of experience spanning classroom instruction, school administration, and district leadership. She has served as the Superintendent of the Cutler-Orosi Joint Unified School District in Tulare County, California, a rural district serving approximately 4,000 students, primarily Hispanic and English learners. She has held the superintendency for the past twelve years.Yolanda began her career as an upper-elementary teacher and transitioned into administration early, serving as an assistant principal at comprehensive high schools, a middle school principal, and later as principal of a large High School for 7 years. She returned to her hometown district as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction before being appointed Superintendent.Under her leadership, graduation rates have risen, UC/CSU admissions have doubled, career pathways have expanded, and district facilities have been added and modernized. Yolanda holds degrees and credentials from Fresno State and is widely recognized for her commitment to leadership development, equity, and servant leadership. Yolanda has presented at numerous state and national conferences. Her mantra is to DREAM BIG, WORK HARD and GIVE BACK.
